Rhiconich Sutherland is a township and the place where an old inn once stood. Rhiconich is at the head of Loch Inchard where the road to Kinlochhber leaves that for Durness.
The district is full of small lochs lying among outcrops of some of the world's oldest rocks, and it alas been described as being almost like a lunar landscape Some 44 miles north east of Rhiconich on the Durness road is Gualin House, situated on the watershed and originally provided by the Marquess of Stafford when the road was built in the early 19th century in order to give shelter to stranded travelers.
Nearer Durness is it stone well, placed there in 1883 by Peter Lawson, a surveyor, as a mark of gratitude and respect to the local people for their hospitality.
