Kylesku Visitor Information Guide
Kylesku is the name of small fishing village which until 1984 had a sheltered ferry where the toad to Scourie and the north from to south crosses Loch Cairnbawn just west of its division into Loch Glendubh and Loch Glencoul, from here there are spectacular views of Quinag (2.653 ft) and Glasven(2.541 ft) where the locks penetrate deep into the land with no roads to accompany them.
Near the head of Loch Glencoul is the magnificent waterfall Eas Coul Aulin(600 ft high) which can reached only on foot or by boat. There was an inn at Kylesku (now an hotel), and in the old days, when the ferry could be halted at the whim of the tide and wind, this was some comfort to the stranded traveller.
