Garve is a village on the Black water river, in Rosshire It is situated 5 miles north west of Contin on the A835 the main road to Ullapool on the west coast, The village is named after the nearby Loch Garve and is in a quiet and peaceful area of great natural beauty, especially when the bright yellow gorse is in bloom. Surrounded by bleak moorland and impressive peaks, Garve is known as the Gateway to Ross-shire.
The village is served by the Garve railway station on the Kyle of Lochalsh line which crosses the A835 road on a level crossing.
