Clashnessie is a small crofting village in the Assynt area on the west coast of Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland, about 1oo miles north of Inverness offering accommodation Bed and Breakfast to suit every pocket,There is a large fine sandy bay with traditional crofting cottages scattered about the area dating back ,to the clearances being upgraded over time.
The coast line offers fine panoramic views of the coast and the mainland mountains with weather conditions constantly changing in every season, on a fine day you can see the long Island of the Outer Hebrides from the road to Clashnessie, There are rocky inlets along this fabulous beach ideal for kids of all ages to play and explore.
Clashnessie Falls are at the head of the shallow glen in which most of the houses stand the falls are fifteen meters dropping from the lochans above. The area is a nature lover's paradise, offering spectacular rugged mountain and coastal scenery, beautiful and secluded sandy beaches, fascinating geology and a wide range of bird and animal wildlife. Fishermen are also spoilt for choice with trout and salmon fishing on numerous hill lochs and sea fishing from the shore.
